If at ANY TIME you have a question that might not have be included below, please contact us. The silliest question is the one that was never asked!
What are the advantages to in-home care?
There are numerous advantages to In-Home care such as keeping your pet on their normal schedule, being able to have you pet receive personal one on one loving care, not being traumatized by travel to the boarding destination and be able to receive scheduled medications and follow a special diet as needed.
What are the advantages for ME using in-home care?
You as the owner will not be inconvenienced or upset by transporting your pet, you won’t have to impose on a friend, neighbor or relative who may forget to care for your pet, you can employ a reliable service to help manage the care of your pet with your busy lifestyle and MOST IMPORTANTLY you can feel confident that your pet is in capable, caring and professional hands.
What should I expect from using an in-home pet care service?
You should expect the best possible pet care service that you’ve contracted. This means the sitter would be following the agreed upon instructions (feeding, exercising, times of visits, dosages of medications etc.) that you have outlined. You should also expect service that is for YOU as well as your pet.
I’m worried about strangers in my home. Can I trust Joy Cares staff?
Yes! All Joy Cares employees must pass a background and drug test.
What does bonded and insured mean?
Any business that works in or around your home should always be bonded and insured. This protects YOU the client but also protects the business. A bond is a form of insurance that protects all parties involved in the event of theft. Liability insurance insures the premises of the client where the pet sitting service is making visits in your home.
What other services do you provide while watching my pet?
Obviously, the care of your pet is our main focus but complimentary services such as bringing in the mail and newspapers, watering plants, taking out trash, front porch lights, etc…whatever is needed so there isn’t any unwanted attention to your home.

How much of a notice do you need?
Once you have had your first meeting with JoyCares we can be on call at a minutes notice. If you are a new JoyCares client and would like to schedule your meeting for a possible vacation and/or business trip we like to suggest that you do so AT LEAST two weeks prior to your departure. If you are a new JoyCares daily dog walking client we can generally start service the next business day after your first meeting with us! Though we try to do our best to accommodate all last minute requests we GREATLY appreciate as much advance notice as possible.
What happens if I do not arrive home as scheduled?
As outlined in our general procedure we require for you to give us a call when you arrive home. That ensures us that you made it home as scheduled and that there will be no future visits needed with your pet. IF we do not hear from you we keep on visiting your pet until we receive that phone call from you. This policy assures you that your special pet is well cared for until they are in ?your hands?!
How do my pet and I start service?
If you choose to use JoyCares as your pet sitting service just give us a call and we will set up an appointment for you and your pet to meet with a fellow pet care provider supervisor. At that meeting we will bring you a packet that tells you a little about our service and it also provides both client references and professional references for you to call. At this meeting you and your pet will be meeting one of the fellow pet care providers that will be caring for your pet in your absence. The fellow pet care provider will be gathering some general information and making notes about specific instructions that will be followed about the care of your pet. At this time they will also be obtaining 2 keys so we can have access to your home and a deposit which amounts to HALF of your estimated pet care bill.
They will also be explaining our general procedure which is as follows:
- Call us to verify that we have a sitter available for the date(s) you will be away from home.
- Before your scheduled departure date we will contact you to verify that we have all of the information and instructions needed for your pet(s). Once you depart, your sitter will perform all of the pet care services you requested, to your specifications, until the date you specify for your return.
- Call JoyCares upon your return home to let us know you have arrived safely. If we don’t hear from you we will continue to check in on your pet(s) until we know you have made it home safely. That way, you know you’ll arrive home to safe, happy pet(s) no matter what occurs!
****DUE TO COVID19 we have modified our procedure to get you and your pet set up for service. We practice all COVID19 protocol as outlined by the CDC to ensure a safe experience for not only our crew but YOU as well. We are accepting new clients so please give us a call so that we can outline our current new client meeting guidelines to get you and your pet set up for service*****
